The holiday season has arrived at Countryside Living, and we’re excited to share a full month of festive activities, delicious meals, special events, and cozy gatherings. From classic Christmas traditions to new seasonal experiences, December is packed with ways for residents to enjoy the magic of the season together.

🎥 Holiday Movie Screenings

Every Sunday in December at 1:30 p.m.

Spend your Sunday afternoons with us enjoying your favorite holiday movies in the comfort of our cozy lounge. From timeless classics to heartwarming favorites, it’s the perfect way to relax and get into the holiday spirit—all month long!

🎨 Christmas Crafts

Unleash your creativity this season as we make beautiful paper ornaments together! These festive crafts add the perfect handmade touch to your holiday décor and make wonderful keepsakes or gifts for loved ones.

🎄 Resident Christmas Party

December 8 at 12 p.m. – West Dining Room
(East Side residents are encouraged to join us in the West Dining Room.)

Our biggest celebration of the year!
Residents will enjoy a prime rib dinner, live piano music, thoughtful gifts, and the warm joys of the season. This special afternoon brings our entire community together to celebrate Christmas in a meaningful, memorable way.

🍪 Holiday Snack Making

Get ready to whip up some tasty holiday treats! We’ll be preparing a variety of festive snacks to share during social hour—perfect for enjoying with friends and savoring the flavors of the season.

📺 SDPB Special Viewing: The American Revolution

December 16 at 2:30 p.m. – West 2nd Floor Lounge

Join us for a special South Dakota Public Broadcasting screening focusing on the history of the American Revolution.
This event includes:

  • A 45-minute viewing

  • 15–20 minutes of Q&A with the documentary’s directors

  • Rare insight into how the film was made and the stories behind it

A wonderful opportunity for history lovers and curious minds alike!

🎁 Holiday Open House

December 18 from 2–5 p.m. – West Lobby & Dining Room (Facility-Wide)

We’re opening our doors to celebrate the season with residents, family, and the community! Enjoy:

  • A Hot Cocoa Bar with all the cozy toppings

  • Delicious holiday treats

  • Seasonal crafts and activities

  • Warm fellowship and festive décor throughout the building

This is one of our favorite events of the year, and everyone is welcome to join the fun!

🎉 New Year’s Eve Party

December 31 at 3:00 p.m. – East & West Dining Rooms

We’ll be ringing in the New Year a little early with a cheerful social hour to celebrate 2024 and welcome 2025! Expect music, snacks, and lots of laughter as we countdown together (before bedtime!).
